Exciting opportunity for a talented UI Developer to create cutting edge interfaces for one of the largest business profile websites in the UK, helping to shape the future performance of Yell.com and other associated consumer sites. The Senior UI Developer will be joining a team of smart and innovative engineers in a supportive and friendly environment where you will be challenged to think differently and create innovative and stylish web solutions.

The role

• Design and implement usable journeys and interfaces for Yell.com search, reviews, business editing tools and consumer messaging. Be an evangelist for the importance of good user interface across business.
• Build using the latest web standards-based client-side technologies for all modern browsers. Angular/React knowledge is not required but is a bonus. ES2015+ knowledge is helpful.
• Application of progressive web design principles and build practices for browsers in smartphones & tablets.
• Provide interface design and development as part of cross-functional scrum teams - working alongside Tech leads, Java developers, Product owners and QA.
• Prototype new ideas to promote usage, improve efficiencies or explore new technology.
• Work with junior members of the team to develop their skills in client-side web development.

The person

• A passionate UI/Front End Developer looking for a challenging career with a market leader.
• Excellence in designing and delivering usable web interfaces (with supporting portfolio).
• Expert in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
• Experience working in data-driven website using Freemarker, JSP/Java or PHP.
• Experience creating responsive interfaces for mobile devices.
• Mindful of best design, accessibility, page weight and caching practices to ensure highly performant pages and load times.
