Yell.com is going through one if its most exciting periods in its history, we are transforming one of the most well established consumer facing sites in the UK. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Front End Developer to join our Reading based team, on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic and unique opportunity for an experienced software engineer to build a product for the very same company you work for.

The role will involve creating and maintaining beautiful clean code that creates cutting edge interfaces for one of the largest profile websites in the UK. The Role:

• Design and implement usable journeys and interfaces for Yell.com search, reviews, videos, maps. Be an evangelist for the importance of good user interface across business
• Provide interface design and development across agile/scrum projects - working alongside Tech Leads, Java, Developers, Product Owners and QA
• Build using the latest client-side technologies for all modern browsers (HTML5 & CSS3 where possible)
• Application of HTML Design principles and build practices for browsers in smartphones & tablets
• Prototype new ideas to promote usage, improve efficiencies or explore new technology

The Person:

• Excellence in designing and delivering usable web interfaces (with supporting portfolio)
• Expert in CSS, HTML, Javascript and jQuery or similar.
• Experience creating responsive interfaces for iPhone (or iPad) and other mobile devices.
• Experience working in data-driven website using Freemarker, JSP/JSTL or PHP
• Self-starter with proven personal or business portfolio using above technologies.
• Mindful of best design, page weight and caching practices to ensure highly performant pages and load times

In order to be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate proof of eligibility to work in the UK and hold a valid work visa if applicable.
